Hammer’s Farm offers grass fed beef by the side or whole of black angus steers. The cattle are raised using intensive rotational grazing techniques, free of pesticides, herbicides, growth hormones, and antibiotics.
We have two farms, one in Florissant, MO and one outside of Decatur, IL. Our farm in Decatur is Certified Organic as meeting all standards for NOP organic certification. We follow the same guidelines in Florissant and are in the process of certification at the present time.
Our beef is available in the spring and fall. A deposit is required to secure your grass fed beef order. Ordering may be accomplished online at; www.wagonrides.com or by calling (314) 838-5848.
We deliver your side of grass fed beef to the butcher where the meat is USDA-inspected, dry-aged for 21 days, cut to your specifications, packaged and frozen. Pick up is done by arranging to meet at the locker plant in St. Libory three weeks after delivery.
To assist in providing cutting instructions, on our web site we have a computerized “cutting instructions to the butcher” that will give you a preview of your choices. For those that have not ordered a side of beef before it is a very helpful introduction.
