Good Plains Farm is a small farm in Timberville, Virginia. We are the 7th and 8th generations of "Good" farmers and strive to provide a high-quality food source to local families. We currently raise a small herd of 100% grassfed and finished pure Devon and Devon/Angus cross beef using rotational grazing methods and daily moves to fresh grass to create nutrient-dense meat that is high quality and delicious. We hope to expand our offerings in the future. We are also dedicated to the practice of regenerative agriculture and to learning to be better stewards of the land by focusing on the health of the soil, plants, and animals. Together these practices translate into healthy consumers!

Our Devon cattle are well loved and cared for. Along with using soil-building rotational grazing practices, we give them a free-choice mineral mix, kelp, and natural trace mineral salt. We believe we should all live our best life, and animals are no exception. We focus on respecting the land and nature through holistic, pasture-based principles that ensure the health of our animals and soil. Our goal is to improve the land through biodiversity of plant and animal life and by mimicking the wild herds that once moved in tight packs across the Great Plains.

Grass-fed and finished beef is available for custom processing at various times throughout the year, as well as by the individual cut. We are also in the process of building an on-farm store that will allow customers to stop in and shop!

Note: We are in the process of building an “egg-mobile,” or movable chicken house, for pastured, free-range eggs. We hope to complete this by the spring. Please contact using one of the methods below if you want to be on a list of people to be notified when we have eggs available.
