Swallow Hill Farm occupies 142 acres of rolling Virginia countryside in beautiful Caroline County, which is located near historic Fredericksburg, VA (within easy reach of Central and Northern Virginia, the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, Ashland and Richmond). We produce dry aged grass fed beef, lamb, chevon (goat meat), free range chicken eggs, raw honey and various other products fresh from our farm. We sell all of our products as well as woodland raised pork at our farm store located in Woodford, VA.
Our grass-fed cattle herd consists primarily of Angus cattle. We do not use routine antibiotics, growth hormones or steroids, and we do not feed grain. Our animals thrive on natural pasture, consuming what they evolved to eat, orchard grass, clover, fescue and warm season and cool season grasses.
Our free-range chickens are an important part of our management practices and help reduce insects around the farm. They also have access to grass, clover, earthworms and other natural feed. Our customers love the rich taste of the farm fresh chicken eggs produced by our hard-working flock.
Swallow Hill Farm is family owned and operated. The land and animals are managed in a natural and sustainable manner and we use regenerative farming methods to improve our soil and the environment. Our goal is to provide health-conscious members of our local community with safe, delicious, high quality meats and eggs. Our animals are treated with respect and compassion to ensure they have the best possible lives while on Swallow Hill Farm.
We sell our products directly from our on-farm store. Our beef is sold by the quarter, half and whole (advance reservations required) and by the individual cut. Pork, goat and lamb is also sold from our on-farm store by the individual cut.
