Black Horse Ranch produces delicious pasture-raised Pork and Chicken just outside beautiful Midvale, Idaho near Oregon's eastern border. We believe healthy soil produces the most nutrient-dense forage, which in turn will produce the most nutritious meat from those lucky animals who ingest it. We are honored to be able to offer these fabulous pastured meats to our customers! Neither our pastures or animals are treated with chemicals. We do not feed any GMOs, Corn, or Soy.
~Pastured Pork: Our pigs are rotated daily on pasture. They also receive a small daily ration of soaked grains, peas, kelp, and diatomaceous earth. They live in sunshine and are free to root, wallow, run, or lay in the shade as they please. In turn, they fertilize our pastures and provide our families with the healthiest pork available! Our pork is processed at a USDA facility and is available in individual cuts, vacuum-sealed and frozen.
~Pastured Chicken: Our chickens are moved out onto pasture as soon as possible, where they absolutely thrive on both grass and alfalfa and all the insects they can get their beaks on! We use moveable pens, rotated every day onto fresh pasture. We feed a custom mix of sprouted grains, peas, Nutri-balancer, and diatomaceous earth. We do supplement the birds’ drinking water with organic apple cider vinegar for increased nutrient absorption and as an electrolyte. Our chickens are active and healthy, enjoying sunshine, scratching in the dirt, and dust baths. We process the chickens at an ISDA facility, and we offer them for sale whole, vacuum-sealed, and frozen.
