The Hill Farm of Vermont specializes in organically certified, pasture-raised beef. (To qualify for organic certification, animals must USDA_organic_logoget 100% organically grown feed and cannot be treated with drugs, hormones, or wormers.)
Beef is sold by the whole, half, and quarter, based on its hanging weight. Halves range from 160 to 220 pounds and take up about 4 cubic feet of freezer space. Hamburger and stew meat from older animals is available at a lower cost. Large quantities of beef are available in October at the farm or direct from the butcher. Our "Hamburger Special" is available at various times throughout the year.
